For men living with prostate cancer, caregivers and family members are often the quiet strength behind the journey. They help coordinate appointments, support treatment decisions, communicate with healthcare providers, and manage the day-to-day needs of cancer care. But caregiving is more than a list of responsibilities. It is also an emotional journey marked by love, concern, uncertainty, and sacrifice.

Too often, caregivers’ emotional well-being is overlooked. Many caregivers focus so much on their loved one’s needs that they set aside their own stress, fear, grief, loneliness, or exhaustion. Over time, the weight of caregiving can affect a caregiver’s health, relationships, and quality of life.

“Caring for the caregiver is not an afterthought; it is an essential part of survivorship.”  -Keith Crawford, MD, PhD
