LIVE Fireside Chat: Exploring New Treatment Options for High-Risk Prostate Cancer

May 27 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Virtual Event

The EvoPAR Pro2 clinical trial is designed for men with high-risk prostate cancer linked to BRCA1 or BRCA2 gene changes who have completed radiation treatment and are currently receiving hormone therapy. Researchers are studying whether adding the investigational medication saruparib to standard treatment may help delay, slow down, or prevent the cancer from spreading to other parts of the body.

Saruparib works by blocking a protein that cancer cells use to repair damaged DNA. When cancer cells are unable to repair themselves properly, they may become weaker and less able to grow and spread. Researchers hope this approach may improve cancer control, delay disease progression, and potentially help men live longer. Patients participating in the study will also receive close monitoring and medical care throughout the clinical trial.

Join Dr. Rana McKay, Medical Oncologist at the University of California, San Diego, who will discuss:

  • How saruparib works and why blocking DNA repair may help slow prostate cancer growth
  • Why are BRCA1 and BRCA2 gene changes important in prostate cancer treatment decisions
  • Who may qualify for the EvoPAR Pro2 clinical trial, and what participation in the study may involve
  • The potential benefits, risks, and goals of this investigational treatment approach for patients and families
