SUMMARY:LIVE Fireside Chat: Exploring New Treatment Options for High-Risk Prostate Cancer
DESCRIPTION:The EvoPAR Pro2 clinical trial is designed for men with high-risk prostate cancer linked to BRCA1 or BRCA2 gene changes who have completed radiation treatment and are currently receiving hormone therapy. Researchers are studying whether adding the investigational medication saruparib to standard treatment may help delay\, slow down\, or prevent the cancer from spreading to other parts of the body. \nSaruparib works by blocking a protein that cancer cells use to repair damaged DNA. When cancer cells are unable to repair themselves properly\, they may become weaker and less able to grow and spread. Researchers hope this approach may improve cancer control\, delay disease progression\, and potentially help men live longer. Patients participating in the study will also receive close monitoring and medical care throughout the clinical trial. \nJoin Dr. Rana McKay\, Medical Oncologist at the University of California\, San Diego\, who will discuss: \n\nHow saruparib works and why blocking DNA repair may help slow prostate cancer growth\nWhy are BRCA1 and BRCA2 gene changes important in prostate cancer treatment decisions\nWho may qualify for the EvoPAR Pro2 clinical trial\, and what participation in the study may involve\nThe potential benefits\, risks\, and goals of this investigational treatment approach for patients and families \n\n Register here

SUMMARY:LIVE Fireside Chat: Clinical Trial Options for Advanced Prostate Cancer
DESCRIPTION:The Omaha-003 clinical trial is for participants who have metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) and have failed to respond to drugs or surgery to block the testes from making hormones\, and after treatment with other drugs for prostate cancer.  \nThe Omaha-004 clinical trial is for participants who have metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) and whose cancer progressed on or after they were previously treated with a next-generation Hormonal Agent (NHA).  \nJoin Dr. Pedro Barata\, Director of the GU Medical Oncology Research Program at University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center\, who will discuss: \n\nHow this investigational treatment works to block hormones that help prostate cancer grow\nThe key differences between the Omaha-003 and Omaha-004 trials\nWho may qualify for each study and what participation may involve
