June Webcast to Feature PHEN Survivor Network for Father's Day Rally
In conjunction with the Father's Day Rally Against Prostate Cancer, PHEN will host a special one hour webcast highlighting the PHEN Survivor Network's actions on Wednesday, June 8th at 6pm.
The theme for this year's Father's Day Rally is "Joining Hands in Prayer and Action to Save Lives." The Rally is shaping up to be exciting and far reaching with churches across the country participating. Over the past several weeks the participation of churches has been featured on the PHEN website, with an emphasis on the churches? Father's Day services. Now the focus will be on "Action" with the PHEN survivor network.
The June webcast will feature a panel discussion of survivors to highlight their work and efforts within their churches and communities around the country. There will be a panel discussion in Boston that will be broadcast as a part of the webcast. We are also inviting members of the PHEN nationwide Survivor Network to join this panel discussion online to communicate about their local efforts. Those joining will be identified and able to join in the panel discussion online via email communication.
Since 2003, PHEN has hosted monthly meetings at Dana-Farber, located in Boston, MA, to educate local men and their families about important prostate cancer issues, help newly diagnosed men understand their treatment options, and help survivors face issues of survivorship.
PHEN has a national network of prostate cancer survivors and churches that help coordinate and support its outreach efforts within local communities across the country. The webcast will also allow questions to be addressed. Send in any questions to rapcacner@prostatehealthed.org.
