PHEN RALLY AT NORTH CAROLINA A & T UNIVERSITY

PHEN partnered with North Carolina A&T State University and the Guilford County Department of Public Health to "rally against prostate cancer" on the Aggies vs Eagles football gameday.

The rally kicked-off on Friday (September 22nd) with a one half hour radio program with Dr. Mable Scott (A&T Associate Vice Chancellor) interviewing Thomas Farrington about the rally and prostate health awareness. On Saturday the Guilford County Department of Public Health provided free prostate cancer screenings on A&T's campus at the Sebastian Health Center. The screenings were coordinated by Ms. Felicia Reid who is a graduate of A&T's School of Nursing, and program director for the Public Health Dept.

As a part of the rally on Saturday NAARVA RV owners James Levister (A&T Aggie graduate) and Bill Fitzgerald (North Carolina Central Eagle graduate) provided their RV's with PHEN Rally signage to promote the rally.

Dr. Pat Shelton, Associate Dean, A&T Nursing School, and ten of her students participated in the rally by supporting the screening activities and passing out literature on the streets.

After all the work and prior to the game James Levister and Bill Fitzgerald hosted everyone for a tailgating party.

The rally concluded with Thomas Farrington as the half time guest for a ten minute radio interview of the Aggie/Eagle football game. The Eagles won the game with a last minute pass interception. Bill Fitzgerald celebrated with an Eagles dance.
