Reverend Geoffrey Ellis, Senior Pastor of Greater Saint James A.M.E Church, Louisville Kentucky, and a member of PHEN's Survivor Network is organizing a Father's Day breakfast on Saturday, June 16th at 9am at Hill Street Baptist Church.
The Churches involved are Hills Street, Facts of Faith Ministries, Greater Saint James A.M.E., The Greater Louisville A.M.E. Ministerial Fellowship which includes seven A.M.E. Churches.
The breakfast is targeting Prostate Cancer survivors and and men who have not had Prostate Cancer. "We want to get the word out that it's ok to talk about Prostate Cancer especially in the African American community, and that AA men should not get caught up in the no-test or get tested issue," outlines Rev. Ellis. The local Black radio station is supporting the breakfast with public service announcements and on the minister's radio shows.
